ATVing May 20th, 2006

On this weekend Tanner, Mike S. myself and Ward were suppose to go.  I wasn't sure if Ward was going to make it.  Last minute he decides to join us so we didn't get going till around 7:10PM, got up there right around 11 I think.  Of course thirsty, so we played cribbage till 12 when dad thought he was going to bed.  Us young guys stayed up till 2 playing cribbage and drinking beers.  So just after 2 I went to bed, Mike was fired up and wanted to stay up longer, but Ward convinced him otherwise.  Tanner woke me up at 6:30AM.  He was ready to go and would not go back to sleep.  So I got up and dad had just gone out and started to get ready to get the ATV's loaded when I came out the door.  I don't think he expected me awake yet, that makes two of us...  Anyway dad and I started loading and it was getting cloudier, next thing a few rain drops (I am thinking NOT another one of these kind of four wheeling days).  We have had our share of rainy four wheeling days.  Dad and I got our rain gear on to finish loading.  Ward and Mike got up and helped load shortly after. 

On the way to meet everyone at Bass Lake it started down pouring on us on and off the whole way there.  It was not looking good.  When we got there Punk and Bobby and Bobby Jr. were there as well as Brian N. Chuck and Katlin.

As you can see from the pictures it turned out to be a beautiful day.

Funny thing Mike was saying that one of his other friends Troy B. was up around Effie ATVing with a big group of people.  Sure enough half of there group of about 15 guys and gals came through.  We ended up going past them when they stopped and them past us when we stopped.  Funny, anyway they apparently have another way to get back from where we were.  It was getting late and we didn't have any extra fuel with us so decided to wait till next time.  We tried to get to that cabin on the river, but couldn't get through.
